"PASSWORD PROTECT YOUR SITE QUICKLY AND EASILY" (quote from CoffeeCup Software). If CoffeeCup can say we have the best of the best, it is true with our new release of CoffeeCup Website Access Manager. If you own a site or you are a web designer for clients; sooner or later there is going to be situation where online files, the whole website, or sections of a website, require restricted access. Before now, finding a process has been difficult and technical. CoffeeCup has created a fantastic Access Tool that creates protection in simple easy to understand steps.
One of the best features is that you do not have to know HTML to quickly create user profiles and choose which users can access portions of your site with just a click of your mouse and entering your information. The software allows configuration of your email to notify users of their usernames/passwords using custom templates to quickly send out lost information, expired account warnings, and more.
Features:

All the features are easily accessed by just clicking on the appropriate icon (as you can see in the nice self-explainable icons on the image above), fill in the desired content for your users, and it is all done for you! In the left hand panel are the folders on your server, for you to see and select. The right hand top panel is the list of your users with their passwords. The bottom right hand panel will show the folder that the selected user is assigned to access with their user/password.
We feel that CoffeeCup Web Access Manager will be a software that is a 'must to have' in your web designer's software library.
We have a 'A Quick Feature Comparsion' Chart for Website Access Manager and Password Manager.

The questions below are common user type questions with answers that hopefully can offer you quick help. You can find these and more at: CoffeeCup Website Access Manager Help Center and always check our great User Forums
Q. Will WebSite Access Manager work with Visual Site Designer Sites?
A. Yes. Please go to WebSite Access Manager with VSD for instructions.
Q. How will I know if my server is compatible with Website Access Manager?
A. Website Access Manager requires PHP 4.47 or higher for the server test and an Apache-compatible Web server. You can check with your hosting provider to be sure if you have this requirement. It is EXTREMELY important to test your server for compatibility with .htacess. If you have doubts, please --- test the program before you purchase the software. Even though PHP is not necessary for password protection, it is used to check the server to ensure that it is running a compatible Web server. If you are running a Microsoft-hosted server, you will not be able to use this program.
Q. My email set up will not work in Web Access.
A. At this time, if you have Yahoo, Hot mail, Gmail, or etc, the internal mail server may not work. For additional help, please contact CoffeeCup Software Help Desk
Q. How do I connect to my Server in Web Access Manager
A. When you first open your software, you will have the opportunity to test your server by entering your server information. WAM will connect to your server. Also, in the WAM working window, click on "Edit" in the Tools Menu, then click on "FTP Settings" to enter your server information. For further information "My FTP Settings Within Website Access Manager"
Q. How do I chose which user has access to a folder on my server?
A. It is easy! The working window for WAM is divided into three sections. When you open your software, WAM automatically connects to your server and displays your folders ON YOUR SERVER, in the left panel. After you have created your users, the list of users/passwords will appear in the top right hand pane along with a check box, beside each name. Highlight a folder on your server by left clicking on a folder. Then put a check in the box beside the user that you want to have access to that selected folder. The folder for the user will be listed in the lower right pane.
Q. Can I customize my email templates?
A. Yes. On the WAM Tool Bar, click on "Tools" and then click on "Edit Templates"
Q. I would like to see a list of my user in another format. Is this possible?
A. Yes it is. You can export your user details to Excel, text file for your word processor, or Adobe. Click on "File" and then click on "Export". A window will pop up for you to choose which format you would like the file export as. This is great for mobility of taking your list with you and importing it to your additional computer.
Q. I own CoffeeCup Password Wizard. Can I import my data into WAM?
A. Yes. Click on "File" then click on "Import" and you will see the option to import users from your CoffeeCup Flash Password Wizard, in the pop up window.
Q. How many license does WAM allow per registered user?
A. There is not a maximum number of license. We feel that you should be able to install the software on each computer that you may own. We do appreciate that you do not give out the software freely.
Q. Can I have sub folders within a folder that would only be accessible to an additional chosen user, in addition to the users for the main selected folder?
A. Yes. Create your sub folders. Select the sub folder, then select the user to access that selected folder. Have your link to the sub folder/ page, listed on a file in your main folder, so the users can access the sub folder.
Q. I have done all the steps necessary and my user/password will not work.
A. Check to see if you have uploaded an index.html file into your protected folder. You must have an index in each folder that is protected. Then add your additional files that you would like your users to access. You may want to list your user names and files to be access on your index page. But, that is not necessary. When you send the url address for the page that is protected to a user, they will have a window pop up to enter their info before they can access their page.
Q. What is the limit of users/passwords that I can use in WAM?
A. There is not a limit.
Q. What if I want to block some IP Addresses?
A. You can block IP Addresses. It is under "Tools" -- "Manage IP Restrictions"
Q. I have my own error pages. How do I point my WAM to these pages?
A. In WAM, you can have the error pointed to your customized pages. "Tools - Custom Error Pages"
